Landart in Homage to Nature all over the World

Hallo from the Swiss Alps!

You are invited to take part in a world project under the Patronage of the Swiss Commission for UNESCO: Natural Art Installations around the world will represent the communication that occurs between nature, local places and you, the visitors. In canyons and gorges, on islands like Cyprus, near the Amazon River in South America, on the West Coast of the USA, up in the Swiss Alps, in the Himalayas, across the African desert, on the steppes of Russia - wherever artists live or want to go in nature to build art with materials from the Earth - all artists and children from 7 to 77+ are invited to celebrate nature through their own spontaneous creativity.

This action is inspired by Aion primal geometry - 10 symbols found in nature - which joins all cultures and religions throughout history and time. We will build symbols from primal geometry using natural elements and materials: stones, earth, water and fire. The symbols include the following: point, circle, parallelogram, cross, spiral, line, triangle, square, lightening bolt, and three points or stars for the cosmos. For example, we might build a cross with wood, a spiral with stones, a circle with fire, or a line with water. We work only with local materials found in nature and with the natural energy of the place. The concept behind the artwork is to save and celebrate nature through our creative acts.

Barbara Streiff is the artist and curator behind this project. She has created exhibitions and installations with Aion pictures and sculptures in many parts of the world already. She invites you to be part of this continuing communicative art action by building installations with the primal symbols wherever you are in the world.

The installations should take place in nature, and photos of the artwork created around the world will be presented on the Website www,alpswissart.ch

World Exhibition for Freedom

Die am 13. September 1999 von der Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen verabschiedete Erklärung über eine Kultur des Friedens unterstreicht in Art. 8, dass bei der Förderung einer Kultur des Friedens schöpferischen Menschen und Kunstschaffenden eine Schlüsselrolle zukommt. Die an diesem Projekt beteiligten KünstlerInnen beweisen durch ihr Engagement für Frieden und Versöhnung, dass sie diese Rolle wahrnehmen.

Für diese "World Exhibition for Freedom" präsentiert jede Künstlerin und jeder Künstler seine Arbeit in seiner gewohnten Umgebung: Anne A. Vogt in Italien, Sergio Tilleria in Chile und in der Schweiz, Mantilios Mantis in Zypern, Erwin Schatzmann in Zürich, Abraham Lubelsky in New York, So Un Lee in Korea, Makudy Sall in New York, Tina Zimmermann in San Francisco und Berlin, Barbara Streiff und Bruno Kaelin in der Schweiz und im Ausland, Kurt und Regula Suter-Droz wo ihr Schiff gerade geankert ist. Meistens sind auch einige der anderen KünstlerInnen an den jeweiligen Ausstellungen beteiligt. Das Bindeglied zwischen ihnen ist Barbara Steiff, eine "Swiss Artist on the Road".

Dieses Projekt trägt zur Verständigung, Toleranz und Solidarität zwischen den Völkern bei. Gleichzeitig fördert es die grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit von Kunstschaffenden, wofür sich die UNESCO immer wieder einsetzt.

Installation "Mother Matrix", al Tecette sopra Incella

Die Installation "Mother Matrix" mit Metallplastiken steht mit dem Ort und dem alltäglichen Geschehen im Dialog. Die Symbolsprache "Urzeichen der Natur" ist in der äusseren und inneren Form erkenntlich. In Kupfer gebrannt und mit Feuer bemalt, schmiegen sich die Plastiken, als spiralförmige, nahezu organische Wesen an die geheimnissumwitterten Mauern des historischen Tecett's Incella sopra Brissago. Hier, in dem Geburtshaus von Claudio Baccala, dem bekannten Tessinerkünstler ist diese Arbeit in Metall, im Dialog zu seinem eigenen Kunstschaffen willkommen geheissen.

Das Mobile auf der Terasse in all den urtümlichen Formen des Kreises, Dreieck, Blitz, Quadrat und Sterne mit den Feuerzeichen bemalt, bewegt sich im Wind.

Eine kreisförmige reliefartige Skulptur als Symbol des Punktes für die Konzentration, den Kreis, die Sonne wie das kleinste Wesen im Mikrokosmos darstellend.
Die konzentrierte, in individueller Art umgesetzte Philosophie des Aions, Griechisch "Unendlichkeit", fliesst hier in das multikulturelle Geschehen ein und nährt die Toleranz und Offenheit gegenüber der Vielfalt von natürlichen Erscheinungen.

Die Arbeit der International arbeitenden Kunstschaffenden Barbara Streiff ist inhaltlich, sowie in Ihrer Ausführung weltweit urheberrechtlich geschützt. www.alpswissart.ch, da es Ihrer eigenen kreativen Gedankenwelt entspringt.

Wasser, Feuer, Luft, Erde und Metall

Seit 1999 arbeitet die Kunstschaffende Barbara Streiff mit den Urzeichen der Natur. Eine permanente Ausstellung im Tal der Linth entstand im Laufe der Zeit. Sie setzte sich mit Skulpturen, welche die archaischen Symbolen als Inschrift eingebrannt haben an historischen, geografisch speziellen Plätzen und in der Oeffentlichkeit in Kommunikation mit dem Ort und dessen Geschehen auseinander.
Vom Thierfehd, über die Kirchen Glarus, den Sonnenhügel bis ins Klöntal und weiter nach Niederurnen finden sich Zeugen ihres Schaffens in Metallskulpturen.

Installation im Park des Kantonsspitals Glarus
Vor der Cafeteria des Kantonsspitals steht seit einer Woche auf der Wiese nahe dem Waldrand eine Skulpturengruppe in Metall von der Kunstschaffenden Barbara Streiff.
Die Hommage an die Natur mit den Lichtskulpturen zu den fünf Elementen ruft die Menschen zu Achtsamkeit gegenüber der Umwelt auf. .

Die fünf Lichtskulpturen, welche am Abend mit einer Oellampe ergänzt leuchten, steht jede für ein anderes Element. Feuer, Wasser, Luft, Erde und Metall.
Der Drache, welcher sich schlängelnd nach oben bewegt, steht für das Feuer.
Der Vogel sitzt lustig auf der Stange und erkundschaftet vor dem Flug in die Luft die Umgebung. Hinter ihm vor den Bäumen steht der Berg, welcher das Element Metall beinhaltet. Vorne, etwas tiefer und nahe der Erde ist das Erdtier dargestellt, es steht mit seinen Beinen auf der Erde und kann weder schwimmen noch fliegen.
Gerade daneben ist die Skulptur welche den Fisch und somit das Wasser symbolisiert, eingesteckt.

Natural Art Installation in Avagas Gorge - Labyrinth Chrissoriatissa Monastery - Panaya - Sinti Monastery, Pentalya Paphos Area Cyprus Island. A communicative art action will take place in the wild natural region of Avagas Gorge in Cyprus: "Land Art Walk in Communication with Nature, Place and Visitors“ Patronage of UNESCO Switzerland. This action is inspired by Aion Primal Geometry - 10 symbols found in nature - which joins all religions and cultures over time. Barbara Streiff, an artist involved with AKAMAS, is the curator. Each year she lives and works in the Paphos area of Cyprus as an international artist. She has created worldwide exhibitions and installations with her Aion pictures and sculptures. Everyone - artists, adults and children, tourist groups, and schools are invited to be creative and celebrate nature with the Swiss artists Barbara Streiff and Bruno Kaelin. The concept behind is, to save and celebrate nature through creative acts. We will build symbols from primal geometry using natural elements and materials: stones, earth, water, and fire. For example, we might build a cross with wood, a spiral with stones, an artwork circle with fire, or a line with water. We only work with local materials from nature and with the natural energy from the Earth.
